As an American citizen, we don't just like to make some money, we need to. I have been working many different 9-5 jobs, including a 4am to 5pm job, a 9pm to 8am job, and in those times, I have worked as requested from each. I have had a job that I worked out and sweated from early morning till late, and driven in a box truck to deliver food to grocery stores. After that, I went to the gym because I still can't get in shape. A lot of that time while doing different jobs, and through high school, college and driving a semi-truck, I have listened to audiobooks.
As a business owner, sure I'd like to make some money, but I don't want or need a deluxe apartment in the sky. I want to benefit authors that create the fun stories I have been listening to in order to get through my work days. While I have to listen or speak to others I did not listen to audiobooks, but getting home from my work day was different. The 15-45min I had driving to and from work, I was whisked away to another story.
Like many I have liked them, they don't distract much, and music can get same and continuous, but so many books are on mp3 now. Used to have to load tapes, then CDs, then when MP3s came out on devices, they were a game changer. This wasn't even 20 years ago, how the tech changes.
Lit2Animate didn't create these stories, an author did, and that author deserves some help from their community, their fans, and customers. I don't have money to give them though, but some do. Fans of fantasy work have their favorite movies, Lord of the Rings series, Harry Potter, many other obviously known and loved movies that follow the stories very closely. There are also many stories that get changed by the studio, other writers, and the producers of a story. We don't want to change that.
The profit demand of big companies sometimes loses the heart of why they are created. We are started to benefit authors and small animation companies. The big companies spend years and millions of dollars to make an animation pretty, dozens if not hundreds of animators, editors, and quality control people to make sure it is all just right, and all those people cost some extra money. It doesn’t need to be that complicated. Small animation companies that can’t be contracted by the big companies need help, and as fans of fantasy literature, they should be able to get it.
Not only all of this, but new artists trying to get into animation, well they are also stuck with not being able to find work with the big corporations as they are needing to work in the small sector, and the small sector is not able to get funding for work, and can’t find projects. That is where Lit2Animate comes in.
Once the threshold is reached to be able to request grants, we will be requesting them from many sources trying to bring benefits to small animation companies. Authors all over with even a small fan base need some help to get their work out there and more well known.
The small animation company is what will be the largest cost, creating an animation can cost quite a lot, and take quite a long time. Once the work is done, and the cost is paid for, Lit2Animate will share the work with the author putting it into whatever venue we can get it, theaters, DVDs (if people watch them anymore) and eventually to stream.
That is our goal, to help the small author, small animation company, and when an animation can be made, if the fans are liking it, they can support it, and the next animation can be done, helping the same company, or another one, and the next part of the story, or even the next author.
This is the point of Lit2Animate.
